On Thursday, the United Nations featured a variety of technological advancements made by young people in Nigeria to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The event, with the topic “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality,” was held as part of celebrations for International Women’s Month in Abuja, according to UN Women Country Representative for Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ms. Beatrice Eyong.
Eyong noted that women make up only 22% of all engineering and technology university graduates annually, highlighting the significant gender gap in employment and education in Nigeria’s technological sector.
