The Presidential Candidate under the platform of the Labor Party in the 2023 General Election, Peter Obi, has explained why he will consider a merger between the LP and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Obi made the explanation during an interview on Noire TV-Global Black TV over the weekend.
Regarding the potential merger between the PDP and LP, Obi expressed openness to the idea, emphasizing that the objective should be to improve governance in Nigeria and unleash its immense potential.
Furthermore, Obi clarified that he is not interested in mergers or alliances solely for the sake of gaining power or winning elections.
Discussing the potential of receiving support as a Southeast candidate in the 2027 presidential election from Atiku Abubakar, Obi expressed gratitude for Atiku’s gesture.
The candidate from the Labour Party emphasized that his main focus is not personal ambition or political tactics, but rather the welfare of Nigeria and its citizens.
He stated, “I’m not eager to become president; I’m eager to witness Nigeria thrive, particularly for the benefit of the less privileged, as we possess abundant potential.”
