The UK Labour Party has been hit with mass resignation after the party failed to approve the running of Faiza Shaheen as their candidate in the Chingford and Woodford Green seats.
At least a total number of 50 members disapproved of the party’s disposition on disqualifying Faiza Shaheen over her activities on social media.
The Labour Party accused Faiza Shaheen of supporting the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, praising former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, and supporting a friend’s decision to stand for the Green Party.
In a letter signed by the aggrieved 50 members condemned the party’s decision, saying Faiza Shaheen was deselected appallingly.
The members threw their full support for Faiza, adding that they would campaign to elect Faiza as an independent candidate against Conservative candidate Iain Duncan Smith.
Faiza Shaheen reacting to the Labour Party’s decision said she would contest as an independent candidate after the party purposely disenfranchised the members of the constituency by removing her name.
