The Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations has welcomed the resolution adopted by the UNSC over the ceasefire deal brokered by President Biden.
The UNSC on Monday adopted the three-phase resolution brought forward by Biden in finding a lasting solution to the conflict in Gaza.
Speaking over the adopted resolution, the Palestinian ambassador Riyad Mansour welcomed the resolution saying it will ease the suffering of the Palestinians.
He said the position of the Palestinians has been an immediate ceasefire that will end the unjust killing of the people of Palestine.
“This resolution is a step in that direction”, Mansour said on Monday.
He expressed deep appreciation to Algeria for facilitating the adoption of the resolution bringing closer the objectives of the national rights of the people of Palestine.
The resolution is welcomed by all Palestinian people, Mansour said expressing appreciation to the global leaders in achieving peace in Gaza.
He urged Israel to allow the implementation of the resolution, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace with the ceasefire and to abide with the release of all Palestinian prisoners under them.
Mansour also appealed to the UNSC to allow the people of Palestine to return to their land, and demand an immediate end to the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.
He affirmed Palestine’s commitment towards compliance with global order and ensured they operate within the international rules and pursue justice and accountability through international and legal mechanisms.
