Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, has urged the losing opposition parties to accept loss and to cease criticizing the 2023 presidential election, calling any charges of fraud on the part of the poll officials “fraudulent.”
The minister said that both Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party lost the election owing to overconfidence and complacency in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja and signed by his Special Assistant (Media), Segun Adeyemi.
Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s presidential candidate, won the election legitimately and with more than the 25% of votes cast in each of at least two-thirds of the states necessary by the constitution, according to Mr. Mohammed.
