Following a two-day walkout by Nigeria aviation unions in protest of what they saw to be intolerable working conditions, flight operations were interrupted yesterday across the nation.
Flights both domestically and internationally were impacted as a result of air travelers’ inability to reach the airports.
At the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the bottleneck caused by the aviation unions’ strike was particularly severe.
The National Union of Air Transport Employees, ATSSSAN, the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers, NAAPE, and the Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals, ANAP are among the unions involved.
