A popular Nigerian musician, Benson, whose stage name is BNXN, has come out to clear the air following an allegation made against him following the release of a trending video that shows the singer harassing a cop.
The allegation came after a trending video surfaced online in which the finesse crooner was seen spattering at a police officer on duty, claiming that the cop had approached him incorrectly.
Following the release of the video, the Lagos State Police Department expressed their displeasure with the situation, stating that BNXN “will surely answer for his assault on a police officer.”
The singer has however took to his official twitter page to clear the air on what actually happened between him and the police officer.
In A tweet tweeted in his official twitter page, the Afro star said:
“My since-deleted tweet stating that I spat in a police officer’s face was an idiomatic expression to say I disrespected a police officer to his face and not the literal way people may have taken it on social media.” I do not support violence or abuse against the police in any form,
“I was in a life threatening situation which caused me to lash out due to the physical assault on me by some policemen who have now been brought to book,”
Conclusively, Mr. Benson went on to acknowledge the hard work of the Lagos Police Department in knowing what actually happened.
