Rights activist Vilma Núñez, former Sandinista rebel commander Luis Carrión, and journalist Carlos Fernando Chamorro – we’re among those stripped of their citizenship and were found guilty of “spreading false news” and “conspiracy to undermine national integrity”.
According to Appeals Court Justice Ernesto Rodríguez Mejía, the properties of 94 people would be confiscated since they are traitors.
Most of those named fled Nicaragua when President Daniel Ortega began arresting opponents two years ago and had been declared fugitives.
This comes after 222 Political prisoners were freed and put on planes to the US before stripping them of their citizenship.
