The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested Sale Mamman, a Former minister of power.
Following his detention in the early hours of today, the former minister is being held at the commission’s headquarters, according to credible sources.
According to Vanguard, the detention is in connection with the commission’s ongoing probe into suspected fraud in the execution of some power projects.
Mamman is accused of conspiring with a ministry staff member who was in charge of the Zungeru and Mambilla hydroelectric power projects and diverting funds that they shared among themselves, according to reports.
According to sources close to the probes, some properties alleged to have been acquired with the proceeds have been discovered in Nigeria and overseas, as well as millions of naira and US dollars have been recovered.
