The UN peacekeepers have discovered mass graves containing the bodies of 49 civilians in the Democratic Republic of Congo meanwhile, they received reports of attacks from local militant organizations.
The mass grave reach a total of 42 casualties including 6 children discovered in the village of Nyamamba, and seven other men found in another village, Mbogi.
Nonetheless, in the northeastern Ituri province, roughly 30 kilometers (19 miles) east of the town of Bunia some graves were discovered.
The deputy spokesperson for the UN, Mr. Farhan Haq, announced that the graves were discovered in two villages in northeastern Ituri province, roughly 30 kilometers (19 miles) east of the town of Bunia.
Mr. Farhan further said the UN will call for an investigation to explore the possibilities of whether the mass graves and the reported attacks are linked.
