Malam Adamu Adamu, the minister of education, said on Saturday that no incident was recorded in the conduct of the rescheduled 2023 unified tertiary matriculation examination (utme), which 80,000 applicants took.
Adamu said this while studying for the exam at the computer-based test (CBT) center in mambilla barracks, asokoro, Abuja, alongside Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar of the Joint Admissions and matriculation board (jamb).
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the head of public affairs and protocol at the jamb, said in an interview that about 80,000 candidates who were unable to register for the 2023 time within their schedule due to no fault of theirs, sat for the rescheduled unit around the country.
Candidates impacted by the system included those who were verified at their sites but could not sit for the examination, those who could not be biometrically verified, and those with mismatched data, among others, he said.
