Russia Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has fired back at anti-Russia western countries for their stance in not taking a group photo with the Russian Foreign Minister at the just-concluded G20 summit in Indonesia.
According to a video circulated online, Sergei Lavrov condemned the actions taken by the western countries’ representatives, Lavrov in an interview said ” When it comes to not meeting with me or that they won’t take photos with me, I didn’t invite anyone to take photos with me, I haven’t invited anyone to anything here. I was invited by Indonesia [to be here], and Indonesia also invited President Putin to a summit in November.”
Lavrov also expressed his dissatisfaction with the agenda the western representatives brought to the summit, to him, the western countries have criticized Russia instead of discussing economic issues at the G20 ministerial meeting in Bali, and that many are all uncomfortable with his presence, he said ” everyone was present in the hall, for the conference. I didn’t feel I needed to make any kind of gestures, put up a front, I wasn’t boycotting anyone and it was interesting for me to hear what the west is breathing these days.”
“And that it could be deducted from their previous statements. Did they utilized G20 for the purpose it was intended?”
To him, the western representatives brought have showed their deep rooted hatred for Russia, which was evident in their willingness not to attend the opening concert hosted by the country.
To him every events show that EU is not interested in dialogue with Russia, does not want to understand our interests or listen to what we have to say. It wants everyone to agree with Brussels’ decisions which are a carbon copy of decisions made in Washington.
