Former DG of Peter Obi’s Presidential Campaign, Doyin Okupe have been arrested by officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Thursday.
Information confirmed that the former leader of the Labour Party was arrested at the International Airport in Lagos, on his way to England.
Doyin Okupe stepped down as DG Campaign for the Labour Party following his indictment in a money laundering case by the Abuja High Court.
The DSS Spokesperson, Dr. Peter Afunanya, confirming the arrest, disclosed that “Doyin Okupe was intercepted by the DSS at Terminal 1 of Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos, this morning at the instance of the EFCC.”
He has long been handed over to the Commission, which requested the action.
Okupe was billed to fly to London via Virgin Atlantic.
Part of his arrest was based on the provision of the court process where he paid the fine imposed on him.
