The presiding judge on the Trump classified documents case struck a paragraph from the indictment on Monday.
While striking a paragraph, the federal judge failed to dismiss some of the charges as proposed by the defense.
The paragraph which is the major topic includes Trump showing a map of a foreign country to his political acolyte while not the president in 2021.
Also, it showed Trump discussing a military operation that he declared wasn’t going the way it was supposed to in the same year.
During the ruling, Trump’s lawyers described the paragraph as prejudicial which is not connected to any crimes indicting Trump which the judge affirmed inappropriateness.
The motion to dismiss the counts is one of multiple pretrial requests and disputes that for months have piled up before Judge Cannon, hindering the progress of the case and prompting the judge last month to indefinitely postpone a trial that had been set for May 20 in Fort Pierce, Fla.
