The e-commerce giant’s boss in a memo to the employees said, “This year’s review has been more difficult given the uncertain economy and that we’ve hired rapidly over the last several years.”
He further added that the company will start circulating information about the layoff to affected employees starting from January 18, 2023.
Recall that the e-commerce giant, Amazon, started layoffs in November 2022 with letting go off nearly 10,000 of its employees.
The company employed 1.54 million people at the end of 2022 third quarter according to report.
Some employees working at Amazon also speculated that the layoffs can continue in the e-commerce, human resource and technology section of the e-commerce segment.
