According to a statement by Colombia’s Minister of Transport Guillermo Reyes Gonzalez.
“We completely reopen the border between our countries in order to guarantee the movement of cargo and passengers, and to promote trade and tourism in Colombia and Venezuela, not only by land but also by air and river,”.
People and cargo can already pass through the border using two bridges in Tachira as well as the western Zulia state.
The commercial trade between the two South American countries are valued at $580 million, based on official data from Colombia.
The two South American presidents have appointed ambassadors in Caracas and Bogotá, respectively.
