The CEO of the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Awards(AMAA) Peace Anyiam-Osigwe is dead. The filmmaker and a bigwig in the Nigerian filmmaking sector who is often described as the “Queen of Nollywood films” died in the early hours of Tuesday, January 10.
The statement from her family confirmed the death on Tuesday morning.
Peace was the one who directed the first music video for hip-hop sensation, P-Square. In 2012, she was bestowed a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic by the Nigerian government for her contribution to the entertainment industry.
The family of the deceased released the information that the filmmaker was acknowledged as an outstanding personality, trailblazer, titan, pathfinder, go-getter, and humanitarian.
Peace Anyiam is one of the most popular figures in the Nigerian entertainment sector, asides from being the founder of the globally acclaimed film ceremony, Africa Movie Academy Awards, she was also the President of the Association of Movie Producers, (AMP)
