In order to promote national unity before the May 29th inauguration, the Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) has encouraged the next administration, led by president-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinibu, to start building bridges of peace and mind walls across all religious and ethnic divides.
In addition, the conference recommended that the new national government hire people who are competent, committed, and loyal rather than appointing those who it deemed to be “mediocres” to positions of authority.
In a news conference held jointly by its Chairman, Haruna Bature, and Secretary, Sunday A Adajeh, on Saturday in Lafia, the forum made this appeal.
They claimed that after careful consideration and extensive consultation, the forum encouraged Tinubu to choose Gov. Simon Bako Lalong as the SGF.
The Forum states that “AYF on April 12th 2023 at about 12 noon rose from her first quarterly meeting after far-reaching discussion on several national issues including the just-concluded general election, resolved to call on Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu, winner and now the President-elect, to humbly consider the coordinator and DG APC PCC, governor Simon Bako Lalong as the SGF in his cabinet.”
