Posters and billboards endorsing Abdullahi Ganduje, the former Kano governor, for the chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have been prominently displayed at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
Positioned at the APC secretariat on Blantyre Crescent, Wuse 2, these posters feature Ganduje’s images alongside those of President Bola Tinubu, with some carrying the inscription: “Ganduje is a capable hand who can unite members of the ruling party for future challenges.”
The appearance of these posters has fueled speculations about Ganduje’s potential elevation to the position of APC national chairman. This comes after the previous chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, and secretary, Iyiola Omisore, stepped down from their roles amid corruption allegations.
While some party stakeholders have expressed their support for Ganduje’s candidacy, there are others who have publicly voiced opposition to his potential emergence as the APC national chairman. The situation highlights a noticeable division within the party concerning his suitability for the leadership role.
