On Friday, the pilot of a Lufthansa flight LH566 from Frankfurt to Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, diverted the aircraft to Cotonou, Togo, and then to Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea.
The Lagos airport was shut down, the pilot had informed the more than 200 passengers on board.
15 passengers traveling to Malabo were expected in Lagos by 5:45 p.m. on March 3 before taking a flight to the capital of Equatorial Guinea, according to information obtained by Vanguard.
But on March 4, the plane eventually touched down in Lagos at 2 a.m.
Findings, however, indicated that no moment on March 3 saw the Lagos airport shut down.
