The presidential candidate of the labor party Peter Obi has promised to finish the presidential power industry that Buhari signed with Siemens in 2019 and is yet to finalize.
The presidential candidate in the upcoming 2023 General election Mr. Peter Obi made the statement during his presentation at the United Kingdom-based policy institute, Chatham House on Monday, January 16.
“However, we will immediately complete the $2.3 billion Nigeria-Siemens network improvement deal to achieve 7,000 MW stable capacity by the end of this year (2023), 11,000 megawatts by 2024, and 25,000 megawatts by 2025,” Mr. Peter Obi said.
Obi affirmed that the Siemens power project which is a continuous deal between the Muhammadu Buhari administration and Siemens to transform Nigeria’s power sector will be completed if he becomes president of Nigeria.
