Thousands of protesters in Sri Lanka stormed President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s official residence in Colombo, calling for his resignation over the country’s worst economic crisis in seven decades.
Tens of thousands of demonstrators marched on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s home on Saturday, accusing him of causing a catastrophic economic collapse that has affected the 22 million citizens of the country.
They jumped over barricades, crowded across the lawns, and entered the opulent home to occupy it.
