Why The Major Countries Are Not On The Same Page With The U.S Over Situation Between China and Taiwan.

With the US having fewer countries to stand by her in condemning China over their military activities, it shows that the "One China Policy" is a mould of concrete that can't be shaken due to their global influence, and historical antecedent of Taiwan as a part and parcel of China

The military tension between China and Taiwan over Pelosi visit to the island have been on the rise with a fear of imminent escalation any moment, with the U.S accusing China for encroaching into the island, it became apparent that the United States have receive limited support from her allies against China over Taiwan.

With global politics and economy on the shrink, taking side between Taiwan backed U.S and China would be hard decision to make following the effect of the Russia sanctions, which is still running deeper globally.

The Taiwan situation is a different game entirely as against Ukraine, with the latter being a recognized sovereign nation, Taiwan still remain an island under China as adopted in 1971 by the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 who recognize the representatives of the PRC government as the only legitimate representatives of China to the UN.

China remain resolute on the “One China Policy” and any agency trying to divide China will met with a devastating reply from China, this has been the sounding warning Beijing have been chanting for any country trying to tamper with the division of China.

With China accusing U.S of taking double standards on Taiwan, and also power politics in regard to Taiwan, as the Chinese government feels the United States have no respect for China’s sovereignty, as they are trying to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs.

With the PLA conducting a military drills in the Taiwan strait, many countries of the world have called for calm in the region amidst the tension, accusing U.S Speaker Pelosi visit as a wrong step at the wrong time.

Only a few allies of the U. S like Japan and Australia have taken the step with Washington’s stance on China, other countries have kept mute in condemning the action of China in Taiwan, with South Korea, a major key allies of U.S in the region have only called for de-escalation of the tension without condemning their action.

Germany, another major superpower also raised concern on the “One China Policy” and that they are fully committed to the “One China Policy”, and called for possible solution without arm conflicts.

Countries like Britain, France and Italy have turned black eye to the situation in Asia, which shows they are less concerned about the activities between China and Taiwan as they have more to tackle on their toes.

With economy declining and inflation on the rise, taking side would be the difficult stance to take for most countries especially for those in Europe, who are feeling the heat of the Ukraine war, and losing another major business partner in the depth of few months would be the hardest decision to take, which if not careful might led to total collapse of their economy.

With the US having fewer countries to stand by her in condemning China over their military activities, it shows that the “One China Policy” is a mould of concrete that can’t be shaken due to their global influence, and historical antecedent of Taiwan as a part and parcel of China.
