Doocy question spurred intense reply from the White House Press Secretary who described his question pertaining to, “Since when does the vice president have what sounds like a Southern accent?” as uncalled for.
Jean-Pierre, in her reply responded, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
While Doocy tried to intensify the topic further, Jean-Pierre dismissed the question, saying, “Do you think Americans seriously think that this is an important question?”
The White House Press Secretary pointed out that Americans are more concerned with issues like the economy, healthcare, and reducing costs, labeling Doocy’s question as “insane.”
Jean-Pierre’s reaction reflects the broader frustration with ongoing conservative criticism of Harris, which has often included remarks about her name, laughter, and background. Doocy’s question followed a segment on Fox News that focused on Harris’ speech during a Labor Day rally in Detroit, where some commentators suggested her tone sounded different.
Even as Doocy persisted, asking if Harris speaks that way in meetings, Jean-Pierre, clearly exasperated, responded, “Peter, we’re moving on. We’re so moving on.”
