Turkey Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has expressed appreciation to Brazil over their stand on the situation in Gaza, as the South American country demands for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Brazil Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira arrived in Turkey’s capital Ankara on Wednesday where he met with President Erdogan and Hakan Fidan.
During the closed-door meeting, the Turkish leader and the Brazil delegate discussed bilateral relations between both countries, as further global issues were discussed.
Fidan appreciating the Brazilian government over their solidarity said they must work actively towards the official recognition of the State of Palestine in the United Nations.
The Turkish Minister accused the Israeli government of masterminding genocide in Palestine, adding that Turkey was against the brutal killing of innocent civilians in Gaza.
“Turkiye welcomes Brazil’s support to South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice”, Fidan said.
Turkey remains among the countries labeling Israel as a terrorist state over their massacre in Gaza which has left tens of thousands of innocent civilians dead and injured.
