The Ukrainian military on Saturday said Russia has launched a series of missile attacks into Ukraine from land, air, and sea.
The Ukraine military reported that 16 cruise missiles and 13 drones were aimed at Kyiv from Russia, saying only four were able to explode with their air defense downing the remaining.
The attack has been the eighth attack on energy Infrastructure in Ukraine in the last three months, targeting the southern Zaporizhzhia region and Lviv in the west, the Kyiv Energy Minister disclosed.
The damages were felt at the Ukrenergo facilities as the missiles hit equipment used in the operation, while two employees were also wounded and currently under medical attention, the Ministry reported.
The Ukrenergo Energy facility reported early outages across the country on Saturday, spanning from 1100 GMT to 2100 GMT as a result of the shelling effect.
Also in Zaporizhzhia, one civilian was killed while residential buildings and structures were destroyed as a result of the shelling.
According to President Zelensky, the Russian forces have destroyed half of Ukraine’s energy capacity as he called for the immediate installation of solar panels in all hospitals and schools in Ukraine.
