New Zealand authorities have accused China of complex and deceptive Interference in its domestic affairs in its annual threat report.
The New Zealand authorities pinpoint their Chinese counterpart for infiltrating their local groups through their front organizations, replacing authentic opinions of the locals with another against the approved one by the government.
While the center-right government has shifted its alliance to the West, it faces confrontation from China, which continues to pose a threat to its sovereignty through malicious attacks.
The authorities have tagged China as the main backer of the group behind a malicious cyber attack that infiltrated sensitive government computer systems in 2021 despite China’s denial of non-interference in the attack.
China refuted the allegations of being the mastermind behind the cyber attack, adding that, they never interfered in the domestic affairs of any countries, the Chinese spokesperson for the foreign ministry disclosed.
Beijing also accused the elected New Zealand government of being a Western puppet by trying to disintegrate the stable relations enjoyed between the two countries.
