Kyrgyzstan has urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Russia for the time being due to heightened security protocols that Moscow has been enforcing for foreign nationals.
In an official statement, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry noted that the country’s embassy in Moscow is advising citizens without urgent needs to delay any plans to visit Russia.
This recommendation follows Russia’s continued implementation of stricter security measures, including enhanced screening of foreigners at the border.
The advisory comes months after a similar warning was issued on March 25, shortly after a deadly attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow’s suburbs claimed 144 lives and left more than 550 injured. Since that incident, Russian authorities have intensified border checks and scrutiny of foreign visitors
