Yemen’s Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for a joint operation with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, targeting four vessels at Israel’s Haifa port.
According to a Houthi statement, drones were fired at two cement tankers and two cargo ships yesterday, accusing these vessels of violating a ban on entering “ports of occupied Palestine.”
The Houthis described the operation as “successful,” claiming direct hits, though there has been no independent verification of this claim. Israel’s military did not comment on the statement but announced on X that it had intercepted a drone approaching from the east overnight.
Additionally, the Houthis claimed to have attacked the USS Eisenhower in the Red Sea, a claim that the US Central Command has denied as “categorically false.”
The Houthis have vowed to continue joint strikes with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq “in solidarity with Palestine.”
