Former Police Officer Derek Chauvin, Indicted in The Death of George Floyd Released from Custody

Derek Chauvin, the former police officer in Minneapolis suspected of murdering George Floyd, was released on a $1 million bond from prison.
Chauvin, 44, faces murder and manslaughter charges after a video showed him lying for about eight minutes on Floyd’s neck during a May 25 arrest.
His unconditional bail was set at $1.25 million, or $1 million with conditions; he was released on conditional bail, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s roster.
Chauvin, according to his notice of release filed in court, is scheduled to appear in court in March of next year.
