Authorities are investigating a bomb scare at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa, Florida, after two explosive devices were discovered on the premises.
The first device, described as a “crude concealed device with fireworks components,” was found late Sunday night, September 29, in a men’s restroom near the casino.
The Seminole Police Department, with help from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Disposal Team, safely deactivated the device. The casino was partially evacuated, but operations resumed around 3 a.m. after the threat was cleared.
On Monday, September 30, a second hidden device was found in another men’s restroom located in the mezzanine area of the casino. This prompted another evacuation, and the device was again safely removed and deactivated.
The Seminole Police Department is now working with the FBI to investigate the incident, reviewing surveillance footage to gather leads. By Monday, all areas of the casino were reopened, and no one was harmed.
