Iran says it has expanded the uranium development at its Fordo site to 60% purity – one technical step from 90% weapons-grade levels – without confirming the amount of uranium being enriched.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said Monday it was in response to a resolution of the EU’s International Atomic Energy Agency, without elaborating. Iran is already enriching uranium to 60% at the Natanz facility.
IAEA chief Rafael Grossi separately claimed to be “seriously concerned” about Tehran’s apparent reluctance to engage with his agency’s probe into reports of man-made uranium particles found at three sites in the country.
Meanwhile US intelligence community says they expect Iran to become a nuclear power within the next 5 years, and to become more advanced in the field (of nuclear weapons) than North Korea within the next 15 years.
Kochavi, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army at the meeting between the Pentagon and the White House said” we are at a critical point that requires the acceleration of operational plans and cooperation with America against Iran and its proxies in the region.
“Time is very important, we have to speed up operational plans against Iran.”
Iran is currently facing US sponsored unrest that want to over throw the Iranian government. During the recent unrest in Iran, 40 foreign nationals were arrested. Two of them are French, accused of inciting riots.
The United States and Israel are discussing the possibility of holding joint exercises simulating an attack by Iran and its forces in the region according to some reports.
