According to the CEO of Lamborghini, the prestigious sports car manufacturer could achieve a milestone this year by selling 10,000 cars for the first time. The company recorded a rise in both profit and revenues for the first half of the year.
As a subsidiary of Volkswagen, Lamborghini sold 5,341 cars between January and June, representing a 4.9% increase compared to the same period last year. The United States emerged as its largest market, with 1,625 deliveries.
While acknowledging the uncertainties in the market, such as raw material prices, Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann expressed confidence in reaching the ambitious target of 10,000 car sales this year. He emphasized the importance of seizing the right opportunities at the right time when Lamborghini is at its peak performance and the market is receptive.
Winkelmann also highlighted the potential utilization of e-fuels, but exclusively for the brand’s sports car models. However, any decisions concerning the development of e-fuel-powered vehicles in the coming decade would rely on future regulatory frameworks across different regions globally, not limited to Europe, as per Winkelmann’s statement.
