Ukraine troops had advanced further into the Northeastern region of the country reclaiming town 3 kilometers from the Russian border.
To overturn the tide of the war, Kyiv had launched a counter-offensive against Moscow forces in the Kharkiv region, forcing a quick retreat of the Russian forces backward.
Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacting to the success of his armies in late Monday said, the Ukrainian forces had retaken more than 6,000 square kilometers, with their latest victory coming after they reclaim the town of Vovchansk which Moscow’s forces had seized on the first day of their invasion.
After reclaiming some towns from the Russian forces, the Ukrainian troops brought down the Russian flags and hoisted the country’s flags which signify the place as a hold of theirs.
While the movement of the Russian forces remains unpredictable, as they continue to retreat massively from their defensive position around Kharkiv, U.S National Security Council coordinator John Kirby said, the war is taking another dimension which one to the Ukrainian forces but also a signal to warn not to let their guard down as war remains unpredictable due to the unfolding situations.
With the Russian forces still taking hold of some cities in Ukraine, their willingness to keep the fight going remains open, and should the Ukrainians leave themselves unguarded, it will be devastating for them, a U.S official said.
Ukraine’s Deputy Minister said Kyiv is trying everything possible in their best to persuade Russian soldiers to surrender, as their life is insignificant to the Russian government.

While the Ukrainian troops had retaken some towns in the Kharkiv region, the Russians continue to shell the region consecutively.
