Russia annexed Crimea back in 2014 militarily after a pro-Russia government was overthrown by the rising political turmoil of the time. Since then, Moscow had continued to infiltrate the interior of Ukraine by giving support to the separatist region of Luhansk and Donbas till 2022 when they invade Ukraine for their stance against NATO encroachment along their border.

U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged the international community to keep raising the costs and pressure on President Putin and his enablers until all Russian troops leave Ukraine. Crimea is Ukraine. That was our position in 2014, and it remains in 2022.
According to Türkiye President Erdogan said that they will continue to support this platform that aims to defend the Crimean cause through peaceful means, and that annexation of Crimea is illegitimate and illegal Crimea is an integral part of Ukraine.
Many other leaders also voiced their concern about the situation in Crimea and informed Russia of the international community’s stand on the return of Crimea back to Ukraine.
