The Baltic states, comprising Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, have appealed to Germany to consent to the immediate deployment of tanks to Ukraine.
The Baltic States also joined a host of other countries in putting pressure on Germany to make a quick decision about arming Ukraine in its war with Russia.
The countries believed the weapons were needed by Ukraine to stop further Russian aggression and restore peace to Europe.
“We Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian foreign ministers call on Germany to provide Leopard tanks to Ukraine now. This is needed to stop Russian aggression, help Ukraine, and restore peace in Europe quickly. Germany as the leading European power has a special responsibility in this regard,” Estonia’s Foreign Minister wrote.
