Following the protest that took place in Stockholm where Quran was burnt, Turkey in retaliation has suspended further NATO ascension discussions with Sweden and Finland.
Turkish president, Erdogan on Monday condemned the activities of the protesters, saying the burning of the Quran is an attack on the entire population of Turkish Muslims.
Erdogan disclosed that his government and country won’t support any country, group, or individual which shows disrespect to the culture and values of the Turkish people.
The meeting between Turkey and their Nordic neighbors which is set for February is reported to have been suspected as retaliation to the burning of the Quran.
Turkey remains the stumbling block to Sweden’s ascension into NATO, and their relationship has gotten soar as Turkey canceled a planned visit by the Swedish minister.
