The Finnish government has announced a new wave of aid to Ukraine worth $434 million as support for the latter’s war against Russia.
The military aid included heavy artillery as well as ammunition, but with the exemption of the German-made Leopard tanks.
In a statement released by the Finnish Defence Minister, Mikko Savola stressed that “Ukraine continues to need support in defending its territory.”
Finland has reiterated their commitment to helping Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia, saying it’s ready to deploy the German Leopard tanks should they consent to its request.
The Ministry didn’t disclose further information as to what the package contained but clarified that the German Leopard tanks are exempted from the package.
The aid is historic, as it is the largest aid package from any country in the Nordic region.
