A body of a man has been recovered from the river in Southwestern Serbia on Friday, following a week of record rainfall across the Balkan area.
The result of the flood led to the closure of schools, and disruption in the daily lives of the people in the region as everywhere was hampered by the effect of the flood including homes and farmland.
As a result of the flood, emergencies have been declared in seven municipalities and towns in southwestern and southern Serbia.
In the Raska town of Serbia, the authorities have ordered the immediate closure of children’s daycare centers and schools as there is still imminent heavy rainfall.
According to the authorities, they’re still in search of another body, as the flood swept away two men on Thursday.
The floods in the Balkan Region this week which affected Serbia, Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, and Bosnia have been triggered by heavy rainfall and unseasonably warm weather.
