MacKenzie Scott, Jeff Bezos ex-wife Becomes World’s Richest Woman

MacKenzie Scott tops the list leaving behind L’Oreal SA heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers as her ex-husband Bezos eclipse a net worth of $200 billion.
MacKenzie and Jeff met when they both worked for hedge fund D.E. in 1992. They married the following year and moved in 1994 to Seattle. They divorced in mid-2019.
Their divorce in 2019 left MacKenzie with US$ 35.6 billion in Amazon stock, while her ex-husband held 75 percent of the Amazon stock of the pair.
In April 2019, she became the world’s, third-richest woman. MacKenzie is now the richest woman in the world on Monday, coincidentally the day SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk became the third richest person in the world.
MacKenzie Scott, 50, who earned a 4 percent stake in Amazon.com Inc. from Founder Bezos as part of her divorce, is now worth $67.4 billion.
She added another $30.3 billion to her bank balance, taking her net worth to $67.4 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. This makes her the wealthiest woman in the world and the 12th richest person.
Since the beginning of 2020, Amazon stocks have risen from approximately $2,000 to $3,500 as customers turn to online shopping in the midst of the pandemic.
Ex-husband Scott Bezos continues to be the world’s richest WHILE Elon Musk briefly overtook Mark Zuckerberg as the third richest on Monday when Tesla’s stock split sent shares up to 12 percent.
Accordingly, US billionaire’s wealth has increased by 800 billion dollars or 25 percent as stated.
The boost to Scott’s fortune has made the world’s richest woman the philanthropist and author, and the 12th richest person in the world.
As part of giving, she has pledged to give shares of her wealth for a charitable course. At the end of July 2020 that she had donated almost $1.7 billion to non-profit organizations and changed her last name from Bezos to Scott.
The pair had declared in January 2019 that they were divorcing after 25 years of marriage and four children, over having an affair with former news anchor Lauren Sanchez after the National Enquirer exposed the tech entrepreneur.
Scott’s ex-husband continues to be the world’s wealthiest man with a net worth of $205 billion and retains his number one spot.
Bill Gates is second with $126 billion to his earnings, followed by $115.4 billion for Elon Musk and $112 billion for Mark Zuckerberg.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk momentarily overtook Zuckerberg Monday when his net worth ballooned to $115.4 billion when Tesla’s split stock sent out shares rising up to 12 percent.
