Both Russia and China are ready to engage in naval military drills in the Indian Ocean off the South African coast next month.
Both countries are committed to further strengthening their relationship with South Africa in the face of ongoing tension with their western counterparts.
The information was made known by Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov who is set to hold a talk with his South African counterpart Naledi Pandor.
Russia is also poised to strengthen its diplomatic relations with South Africa over time, as the latter has refused to condemn Russia’s aggressive nature in Ukraine.
The drills are said to take place on February 24, as to commemorate the first anniversary of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Russia and China have stressed that they remain committed to ending the western unipolar world order and ushering in a new world order free from the decision of a single country.
