The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken will visit the Middle East as tension continue to escalate between Israel and Palestine.
It was disclosed that the US Secretary of State will meet with some leaders of the region as he’s poised for travel at the end of the month.
The recurring tension between Israel and Palestine is one of the major precursors for his visit to the region, aiming to meet with the leaders of Israel, the West Bank, and Egypt during his travel to the region.
The US State Department disclosed on the planned visit of Anthony Blinken that, “With both Israeli and Palestinian leaders, the secretary will underscore the urgent need for the parties to take steps to de-escalate tensions to put an end to the cycle of violence that has claimed too many innocent lives.”
The US leaders have continued to call for de-escalation between both countries following the attacks by Israeli troops on Thursday in the Jenin camp where 10 people were killed as a result of the attack.
