When bicoastal storms brought rain, snow, flooding, and severe winds, more than 400,000 people in the US are without power.

Tuesday saw mudslides and overflowing rivers throughout California. Among the 58 counties in the state, almost 40 have experienced an emergency.

In certain areas of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York, there has been up to three feet of snowfall.

Early on Wednesday, storms on both coasts subsided, but the damage persisted.

According to Poweroutage.us, 189,492 Californians were still without power as of late Wednesday morning, along with 165,249 people in New Hampshire, Maine, New York, and Massachusetts.

With winds of exceeding 40 mph (64 km/h), the storm that swept across the northeast produced mountains of snow, felled power lines, and toppled trees, one of which almost flattened a parked car in the Bronx. The area’s hundreds of businesses and schools were shut down.
