Following its policy on political ads on social media, Twitter has joined leagues of social media that created room for political content in the advertisement.
On Tuesday, the social media Safety account disclosed that the social media giant will align their advertisement policy with that of TV and other media outlets regarding political materials.
Following Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, the billionaire said, he’s committed to ensuring free speeches for everybody, as that serves as one of the benefits brought forward by democracy.
The lifting of bans on political content would take effect in the coming weeks after it was banned in 2019.
According to the new policy, Twitter indicated that political influence should be earned through willing public interest not purchased.
