A Twitter bird statue sold for $100,000 on Wednesday as part of an online auction of surplus items from the tech firm’s San Francisco headquarters.
The auction, which was organized by Heritage Global Partners, featured 631 lots including espresso machines, desks, televisions, charging stations, pizza ovens, and a decorative planter shaped like an “@” sign.
A 10-foot neon light in the shape of Twitter’s bird logo also sold for $40,000.
The auction comes after Elon Musk, who recently acquired the company, announced severe cost cuts and layoffs in December in an effort to repair Twitter’s finances.
