At least 60 incidents of violence and nine deaths have been recorded during the political rallies across the country ahead of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
The information was disclosed by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) in its Election Analysis Centre (EAC) brief, the center further, said many people were injured in the attacks since campaigns started in September 2022.
The body confirmed it will utilize its financial and military resources to fight against criminality of all forms including kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, and militant insurgency.
The center expressed fear over the mobilization of non-state actors by political leaders for criminal activities, which undermine the credibility of the votes.
