Outgoing Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has unveiled the much-talked-about Nigeria Air airline by taking delivery of a Boeing 737-800 ET-AL in its fleet.
He stated that it is an infrastructure that has been missing in the general aviation dynamics of the country and that it is equal to the size of the market, the dynamics of the market, its geography and the fortunes of the country.
The partnership between entrepreneurs in Nigeria and the entrepreneurs in Ethiopian Airline Consortium has been a long journey, starting in 2016 and ending in today.
It is envisaged that within the next five years, it will hit the 35 Aircraft mark. Ethiopian Airline chief commercial officer Lemma Yadecha Gudeta has assured that the Nigeria Air project will be a one billion dollar project in five years.
A public affairs commentator, David Hundeyin, has obtained a video of the purported โNigeria Airโ 737-800 from a source at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in Ethiopia.
The aircraft is clearly registered to @flyethiopian with the registration number ET-APL and has also briefly appeared in the colours of @MalawianAirline. After disappearing to Tel-Aviv for 5 days, it has now resurfaced in Abuja to be fraudulently โcommissionedโ later today by @hadisirika.
