The Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies have been warned to make sure that all election results are uploaded to the portal in order to have a credible, free, fair, transparent, and peaceful process, according to Archbishop Lucius Ugorji, president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria.
The group cautioned INEC against tampering with the results of the state Houses of Assembly and governorship elections on Saturday in order to avoid angering Nigerians.
These were said by Archbishop Ugorji on Friday at the canonical erection of the recently established Catholic Diocese of Aguleri and the installation of Most Rev. Denis Isizoh as its first Bishop at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Aguleri in the Anambra East Local Government Area.
He expressed displeasure that INEC “failed” to keep its word to hold the country’s recently ended presidential and National Assembly elections in a free, fair, and credible manner.
